Introducing our second collaboration beer with London Brewing, the Runner's High Dry Hopped Pale Ale! In celebration of our second beer launch with LBC we will be hosting another run from BackRoads to the London Brewing on Sunday Morning November 21tst 2021! Routes will be provided on strava (check out our blog for links to the routes and start times). We will have 4 routes with different distances including 4km, 15km, 19km, 26km or make your own route! This is for everyone so feel free to walk, run or bike! We will have a bag drop at BackRoads & The Forks. We will plan to arrive at the brewery @10:45am or after and we will have a Irma's Pupusas ready to serve at 10:30am-2pm!
About the Beer:
For this recipe, we were looking for something that showed of the aromas and flavours of the BackRoads hops, while still being approachable. I.e. not to bitter, easy on the palate, and more sessionable than a full strength IPA. On the malt side, after a base of local organic newdale, we added a healthy addition of oats and wheat to round out the mouthfeel. A small early bittering charge of chinook to balance that malt sweetness, followed by a heavy whirlpool addition of cascade and chinook. Double dry hopped, leaning more cascade than chinook. It's a smooth hazy hoppy pale ale, coming in at 5.5%. Nice citrus, grapefruit aromas with a touch of blackcurrant. "Aaron Lawrence, President, London Brewing Co-operative"
