Job Title: Retail Associate & Taproom Server
BackRoads Brews + Shoes is a specialty running retail store and taproom focused on providing an excellent customer experience and establishing and maintaining a strong store community. The BackRoads Taproom adds a unique in-store experience for our customers by providing a place to socialize and be part of a broader community. BackRoads carries a wide selection of footwear and gear for both running and walking and has established a prominent running group. BackRoads is searching for a motivated individual interested in being part of the running community and the sporting goods industry.
Job Type: Part-time with potential for promotions and increased hours. Start at 15-20 hours per week. Will need to be available for weekday hours during the day and evenings. Position will tentatively start the week of March 7th, 2023.
Wage: Competitive wage based on experience. Tips from the taproom additional.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct shoe fittings
- Serving customers as Barista and Bartender in taproom
- Merchandising shoes and apparel
- Processing purchases for all taproom and retail items
- Stocking and organizing inventory room
- Cleaning store and taproom
- Process and manage new inventory using Shopify
- Represent and be knowledgeable of product in store
- Process online sales using Shopify
- Conducting opening and closing procedures
- Occasionally contributing to store social media content
Skills:
- Computer savvy
- Independent worker
- Personable and comfortable talking to several customers
- Interest in running as an activity or sport
- Some knowledge of running shoes and current shoe technology
- Familiarity with Shopify an asset
Preferred Experience:
- Serving as a Barista and Bartender
- Retail and Sales
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Smart Serve
