BackRoads Run Club

From Beginners to people looking to better their Personal Bests. BackRoads has an open door policy where everyone is welcome at any point in the year. BackRoads Run Club members will receive training programs and organized coaching to optimize their success.

Spring/Summer 2022 Run Club Programs

All Run Club Memberships Include:

- Experienced instructors.
- Full detailed training programs and organized coaching.

- Meet one on one with an instructor to discuss goals and training.

Rookie Program - SOLD OUT

$55.00 plus tax

This is a great program for the beginner runner or someone returning from injury or a longer break. The gentle, progressive training implements intervals with running and walking that help you complete a 5 km run.

- 10 week Training Program provided for each participan
- $55.00 plus tax – Please register on Race Roster (link above)
- Monday and Wednesday runs at 5:45 pm
- Instructors who provides excellent support
- Expert advice for running and gear, including shoes
- Positive interaction with other runners and friends
- Social events

Fit & Fab 10km+ Program - SOLD OUT

$80.00 plus tax

The BackRoads "Fit & Fab" program is perfect for those looking to stay fit, or train for a 10 km to half marathon. The program will prepare you to run this distance for the first time, or help you improve your personal best times. This group will run Tuesdays and Thursdays starting from the store at 6 pm.

- 12 week Training Program provided to each participant (should be able to currently run 5km)
- $80.00 plus tax – Please register on Race Roster
- Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:00 pm and Sunday Long Run at 8:30 am.
- Tuesdays will be Workouts (intervals, repeats, tempo, hills etc.).
- Thursdays will be Social Runs (5 km – 10 km).
- Instructors and Group Leaders offer outstanding support.Routes provided.
- Facebook private group for important communication.
- Expert advice for running and gear, including shoes.
- Social events

Half Marathon Program (Tentatively Starts June 28th)

$100.00 plus tax

This program is perfect for those who are looking to improve their half marathon speed. This program is designed for those who can already run at least 15km (or longer) distance for a “long” run. The Half Marathon will prepare you to race a Fall half marathon.

- 16 week Training Program for those who can currently run 15km for a long run provided for each participant.
- $100.00 plus tax
- Tuesday Workouts: 6:00 pm – repeats/intervals, tempo, etc.
- Thursday Social Run or Tempo Work: 6:00pm — varied distances.
- Saturday Long Runs: 8:00 am – varied distances.
- Goal Races: Forest City September 18th & Toronto Waterfront October 16th.
- Instructors and Group Leaders offer outstanding support.Routes provided.
- Facebook private group for important communication.
- Expert advice for running and gear, including shoes.
- Social events

Full Marathon Program (Tentatively Starts June 20th)

$105.00 plus tax

The Full Marathon program is perfect for those looking to step up to the marathon distance or those who are experienced with the marathon and are looking to improve their speed over the distance. This program is designed for those who can currently run the half marathon distance (21km) for a “long” run at the time of registration. The Full Marathon program will start on Monday, June 20th, 2022, at 6:00 pm and will prepare you to race a marathon in the Fall.

- 17 week Training Program provided for each participant.
- $105.00 plus tax.
- Monday Workouts: 6:00 pm – repeats/intervals, tempo, etc.
- Wednesday Tempo Work: 6:00pm (marathon specific pace work) OR Wednesday Social Runs: 6:00 pm – varied distances.
- Saturday Long Runs: 8:00 am – varied distances.
- Optional Goal Marathon: Toronto Waterfront October 16th.
- Instructors and Group Leaders offer outstanding support. Routes provided.
- Facebook private group for important communication.
- Expert advice for running and gear, including shoes.

Free Social Group Runs

Social Trail Runs - Every Friday at 6pm

We are very excited to start social Trail Runs every Friday starting at 6pm from BackRoads! The first trail run will be April 8th at 6pm. These runs will include the Kains Woods and Warbler Woods trails. The Kains Woods loop from BackRoads is 7.5km.

Social Runs - Every Thursday at 6pm

After more than 2 years we are excited to start Social Road Runs again every Thursday starting at 6pm from BackRoads! The first open social run is on April 14th. These socials runs will follow a route around Riverbend with distance options from 5km and upwards of 10km.
