BackRoads Run Club

From Beginners to people looking to better their Personal Bests. BackRoads has an open door policy where everyone is welcome at any point in the year. BackRoads Run Club members will receive training programs and organized coaching to optimize their success.

Fall 2022 Run Club Programs

All Run Club Memberships Include:

- Experienced instructors.
- Full detailed training programs and organized coaching.
- Exclusive access to the store Taproom post run on week day runs.
- Meet one on one with an instructor to discuss goals and training.
- Special team events as permitted by COVID-19 protocols.
- Access to a supportive private Facebook group.

Holiday Program 10km+

This 6 week Holiday program is perfect for those looking to continue running, stay fit, maintain or build fitness as we look forward to our winter running programs. This program will help you prepare for programs including 10km, half marathon and Around the Bay. This group will run Tuesdays and Thursdays starting from the store at 6 pm and Saturdays at 9 am.

- 6 week program from November 8th to December 17th
- Tuesday and Thursday at 6 pm, Saturday at 9 am.
- This is a fun fitness maintenance program before the two week holiday break.
- Distance ranges provided for every group run.
- HOHO Santa Run on Dec. 10th
- Destination Runs: Run to London Brewing on Sunday November 27th and One Saturday Long Run starting from Ross Park. Possibly more!
- Private Facebook group for program updates, workout descriptions and routes provided.
- Winter Running Programs will start the first week of January and will include a 5km to 10km Program, Half Marathon & Around the Program, and a Full Marathon Program.

Rookie Program - COMING SPRING 2023

$60.00 plus tax

This is a great program for the beginner runner or someone returning from injury or a longer break. The gentle, progressive training implements intervals with running and walking that help you complete a 5 km run. This program starts in April 2023.

- 10 week Training Program provided for each participan
- $60.00 plus tax
- Monday and Wednesday runs at 5:45 pm
- Instructors who provides excellent support
- Expert advice for running and gear, including shoes
- Positive interaction with other runners and friends

Fit & Fab 10km+ Program

$90.00 plus tax

The BackRoads "Fit & Fab" program is perfect for those looking to stay fit, or train for a 10 km to half marathon. The program will prepare you to run this distance for the first time, or help you improve your personal best times. This group will run Tuesdays and Thursdays starting from the store at 6 pm. The program will start on Tuesday January 3rd, 2023. New this program is the option is do the Cardio Coach VO2 Max assessment with Medpoint Fitness

- 16 week Training Program provided to each participant (should be able to currently run 5km)
- $90.00 plus tax
- Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:00 pm and Sunday Long Run at 9:00 am.
- Tuesdays will be Workouts (intervals, repeats, tempo, hills etc.).
- Thursdays will be Social Runs (5 km – 10 km).
- Instructors and Group Leaders offer outstanding support.

- Social events

Half Marathon and Around the Bay Program

$100.00 plus tax

This program is perfect for those who are looking to improve their half marathon speed and/or run the Around the Bay 30km. This program is designed for those who can already run at least 15km (or longer) distance for a “long” run. The Half Marathon program will start on Tuesday January 3rd and will prepare you to race the Around the Bay 30km and/or a Fall Half Marathon. New this program is the option is do the Cardio Coach VO2 Max assessment with Medpoint Fitness

- 16 week Training Program for those who can currently run 15km for a long run provided for each participant.

- $100 plus tax

- Educational presentation on Tuesday January 10th diving into the program and the purpose of different runs. Including but not limited to: workouts, easy runs and long runs.

- Tuesday Workouts: 6:00 pm – repeats/intervals, tempo, etc.

- Thursday Social Run or Tempo Work: 6:00pm — varied distances.

- Sunday Long Runs: 9:00 am – varied distances.

- Goal Races: Around the Bay 30km March 26th, Toronto Half Marathon Sunday May 7th, Forest City Road Races TBD.

- Instructors and Group Leaders offer outstanding support.

- Routes provided.

- Facebook private group for important communication.

- Expert advice for running gear, including shoes.

Full Marathon Program

$110.00 plus tax

The Full Marathon program is perfect for those looking to step up to the marathon distance or those who are experienced with the marathon and are looking to improve their speed over the distance. This program is designed for those who can currently run the half marathon distance (21km) for a “long” run at the time of registration. The Full Marathon program will start on Monday, January 2nd, 2023, at 6:00 pm and will prepare you to race a marathon in the Spring. New this program is the option is do the Cardio Coach VO2 Max assessment with Medpoint Fitness.

- 16 week Training Program provided for each participant.
- $110.00 plus tax.
- Monday Workouts: 6:00 pm – repeats/intervals, tempo, etc.
- Wednesday Tempo Work: 6:00pm (marathon specific pace work) OR Wednesday Social Runs: 6:00 pm – varied distances.
- Saturday Long Runs: 8:00 am – varied distances.
- Optional Goal Marathon: Toledo Glass City Marathon April 23rd.
- Instructors and Group Leaders offer outstanding support. Routes provided.
- Facebook private group for important communication.
- Expert advice for running and gear, including shoes.

Free Social Group Runs

Social Runs - Every Thursday at 6pm

After more than 2 years we are excited to start Social Road Runs again every Thursday starting at 6pm from BackRoads! The first open social run is on April 14th. These socials runs will follow a route around Riverbend with distance options from 5km and upwards of 10km.

Social Trail Runs - Returning Spring 2023

Join us Spring 2023 for Trail Runs every Friday starting at 6pm from BackRoads! These runs will include the Kains Woods and Warbler Woods trails. The Kains Woods loop from BackRoads is 7.5km.
