BackRoads Running Programs

From Beginners to people looking to better their Personal Bests. BackRoads has an open door policy where everyone is welcome at any point in the year. BackRoads Run Club members will receive training programs and organized coaching to optimize their success.

Run Club Memberships Include:

  • Experienced instructors.
  • Full detailed training programs and organized coaching.
  • Exclusive access to the store Taproom post run on week day runs.
  • Meet one on one with an instructor to discuss goals and training.
  • Special team events as permitted by COVID-19 protocols.
  • Access to a supportive private Facebook group.

Fall Programs TDB

Rookie Program (5km) 
$50.00 plus tax

This is a great program for the beginner runner or someone returning from injury or a longer break. The gentle, progressive training implements intervals with running and walking that help you complete a 5 km run. The Rookie Program starts Monday, July 5th, 2021, at 6:00 pm.

  • 8 week Training Program (to September 1st) provided for each participant
  • $50.00 plus tax – Please register on Race Roster
  • Monday and Wednesday runs at 6:00 pm
  • Instructor who provides excellent support
  • Expert advice for running and gear, including shoes
  • Positive interaction with other runners and friends
  • Social events – depending on restrictions.

 

Fit & Fab 10km+ Program
$80.00 plus tax

The BackRoads "Fit & Fab" group is perfect for those looking to stay fit, or train for a 10 km to half marathon. The program will prepare you to run this distance for the first time, or help you improve your personal best times. This group will run Tuesdays and Thursdays starting from the store at 6pm. The Fit & Fab group will start on Tuesday, July 6th at 6:00 pm OR once restrictions are lifted and group runs are permitted again.

  • 10 week Training Program provided to each participant (should be able to currently run 5km)
  • $80.00 plus tax – Please register on Race Roster
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:00 pm and Sunday Long Run at 8:30 am (or earlier depending on heat).
  • Tuesdays will be Workouts (intervals, repeats, tempo, hills etc.).
  • Thursdays will be Social Runs (5 km – 10 km).
  • Instructors and Group Leaders offer outstanding support.
  • Routes provided.
  • Facebook private group for important communication.
  • Expert advice for running and gear, including shoes.
  • Social events – depending upon recommendations by Public Health Officials.

 

Half Marathon Program
$80.00 plus tax

The Half Marathon program is perfect for those who have already run the half marathon distance and are looking to improve their speed over the distance. This program is designed for those who can already run at least 15km (or longer) distance for a “long” run. The Half Marathon program will start on Tuesday, July 6th, 2021, at 6:00 pm and will prepare you to race a half marathon in mid September.

  • 10 week Training Program for those who can currently run 15km for a long run provided for each participant.
  • $80.00 plus tax please register on Race Roster
  • Tuesday Workouts: 6:00 pm – repeats/intervals, tempo, etc.
  • Thursday Social Run or Tempo Work: 6:00pm — varied distances.
  • Sunday Long Runs: 8:00 am – varied distances. (may start earlier depending on the summer heat)
  • Run start times may need to be staggered to split the group up depending on restrictions.
  • Instructors and Group Leaders offer outstanding support.
  • Routes provided.
  • Facebook private group for important communication.
  • Expert advice for running and gear, including shoes.
  • Social events – depending upon recommendations by Public Health Officials.

 

Full Marathon Program
$95.00 plus tax

The Full Marathon program is perfect for those who are experienced at the full marathon distance and are looking to improve their speed over the distance. This program is designed for those who can currently run the half marathon distance (21km) for a “long” run at the time of registration. The Full Marathon program will start on Monday, July 5th, 2021, at 6:00 pm and will program will prepare to race a marathon in mid October.

  • 14 week Training Program provided for each participant.
  • $95.00 plus tax - Please register on Race Roster.
  • Monday Workouts: 6:00 pm – repeats/intervals, tempo, etc.
  • Wednesday Tempo Work: 6:00pm (marathon specific pace work)
  • OR Wednesday Social Runs: 6:00 pm – varied distances.
  • Saturday Long Runs: 7:00 am – varied distances.
  • Run start times may need to be staggered to split the group up depending on restrictions. i.e. groups of 25 to start.
  • Instructors and Group Leaders offer outstanding support.
  • Routes provided.
  • Facebook private group for important communication.
  • Expert advice for running and gear, including shoes.
  • Social events – depending upon recommendations by Public Health Officials.

 

Social Group Runs
